So long, Insecurity

I had the pleasure of attending a Beth Moore Simulcast, "So Long, Insecurity" today. It was wonderful. Attendees for her live talk and for the 369 different simulcast locations totaled 300,000 women total hearing this talk. Let's face it- all women have some sort of insecurity. So, this was a hot topic. She made lots of really good points. Her main text she drew from was Ephesians 4:17-24. Here are some of the things that she said that were highlights for me:

Insecurity is not a weakness, it is unbelief (Namely unbelief in what we are "taught" in Him)

A secure woman is saved from herself by the Lord.

Security could make us secure enough in ourselves to NOT make us obsessed about ourselves.

A secure woman is entitled to truth (Eph. 4:21)

The more we live withdrawn, the more we live darkened and addicted to sin.

A secure woman is clothed with intention-we are to deliberately put off the old us and put on the new us (we are a "new creation"- 2 Cor 5:17)

We can't wait until we feel secure to believe in our security in Christ.

A secure woman is upended (turned upside-down) by grace.

A secure woman is rebounded by love.

An unhealed heart becomes a hardened heart.

A secure woman is exceptional in life-if you determine every day to put off your old self and be secure, you will be exceptional.

And, a huge application for me (insert drumroll):
Don't hold out an empty cup every day asking people to fill it. It should be already full in Christ.

Good stuff!!!!!!
