Hannah's 3rd Birthday Party

On Saturday we celebrated Hannah's 3rd birthday, or what Hannah called her "July 11th birthday cake party" (I had just taught her the date of her birthday). It was a ladybug party complete with a tu-tu I made for her to wear. She loves that tu-tu, by the way. As soon as she tried it on for me a few days before her party, she broke out into song and dance as if it transported her straight to Broadway. It was adorable!
We started the party at 11am. Okay, so we were a little late starting. Sorry, guests! But, even though we were running a little late no one seemed to mind. The kids played in the jumpy castle until time to eat while the adults were deep in conversation. I have to say, even though I was running late and the time snuck up on us, it was nice having the party at 11:00 instead of 4:00. We had everything cleaned up and had the kids down for nap by 2:00. Thanks, wonderful family:)
We had a really awesome day celebrating our sweet little girl's birthday. It feels weird to say "little girl" sometimes instead of "baby." But, she is in fact a girl now. And, if we had any doubts, they are wiped away as soon as she opens her mouth. She sounds just like an adult when she speaks now.

Sweet little friends

Hannah wanted cupcakes, strawberries, hotdogs, and cheese toast at her birthday party (the cheese toast didn't make the final cut).

She was very eager to blow out her candles. We had to hold her back until the end of the birthday song.

She got lots of fun stuff

It took Daddy getting her fired up about it for her to hit the pinata, but once she did, she went at that thing with determination. You can see it all over her face! When I asked later what her favorite part of her party was, she said "the pinata".
What a fun and joyful day!

  1. Another cute party!! Thanks for your cake-making advice the other night and your offer for future advice. I'll see how my first attempt at decorating goes for Miller's party. I may just get you to make them in the future if it doesn't work out so well! :)
