I just noticed that I had drafted a Mother's Day post and never published it! So, here it is:
I am so honored to be called "Mommy." Motherhood is such a high calling. Though I fall short so much of the time I feel so thankful for the opportunity to have my sweet children and raise them, leading them and teaching them, alongside their wonderful Daddy, how to live for God and love Him and others. I look back with thankfulness to the years that have flown by already and look ahead with excitement to the years ahead. I pray I cherish every moment.
On the Saturday before Mother's Day we had a Tea for all of the mothers and daughters at our church. Some of us brought our china to use and our girls' miniature tea sets to decorate the tables with. We had beautiful hydrangeas from our yards as centerpieces for all of the tables. We sat, talked, and enjoyed tea and snacks like cucumber sandwiches, chocolate strawberries, danishes, scones, and truffles. Hannah especially loved the little sugar cubes for the tea. The junior high girls sang a few songs for us as well. It was such a fun time for us! Hannah absolutely loved sipping tea and doing girly things, but most of all I think she enjoyed getting to do something with "just the girls." It was such a sweet time and perfect thing to do in honor of Mother's Day. I loved spending special time with my sweet girl!
I'd love to add some other pictures from Mother's Day, but sadly I totally forgot to take pictures of me with the kids on Mother's Day.
That day I slept in some and entered the kitchen to receive breakfast made by my sweet hubby and beautiful cards from him and the kids, complete with special artwork inside. Rodney wanted to get me something off of my wish list for Mother's Day. I LOVED that idea, but postponed the things on that list when I came across a pair of chairs at Ross. I've been wanting a fun chair for my bedroom for a while. I just redid it in turqouise and brown. Well, when I saw these two chairs of those colors in a fun dot pattern I knew they were just right. I haven't taken a picture of them, but they are super cute.
I sure did feel special and ever so blessed this Mother's day!
