Mother's Day at Dollywood

Sweet friends of ours offered us guest passes to Dollywood, and after months of trying to figure out when we might go around our friend's work schedule, we ended up going on Mother's Day. At first I wondered whether I could do it, having just started to recover from that bad sinus infection. I prayed that God would take away my headache and nausea and equip me to have a wonderful day with friends and my family. The Lord responded by blessing me with a great day, free of strain of any sort. I was so thankful!
It was just a two hour drive from our house, so we were able to wake up a little early and get there right after the park opened. We stayed until almost close that evening. It was a day full of fun and ease.
As one would probably guess, we spent most of our time in the kiddie ride area. We just walked around letting the kids direct us as to which ride to go to next. It was so cute to see their excitement. They absolutely loved it all!

We love this family!
Our sweet friends, Dustin, Andrea, Emma, and Hunter

I remembered to get a shot of me with my kids on Mother's Day! And it's a cute picture! Score!

Hudson absolutely loved the car track. And, I have to say, he was quite good at "driving." He really thought he was driving the car and concentrated hard at it.

Andrea was so sweet to ride the teacups with the kids (even though this ride makes her sick).  She didn't think when Hannah asked to spin the wheel, that she could actually make it go so fast, but she had that thing going! What a good sport!
Rodney and I can not do things that just spin. It would NOT be good.

This was a fun little kiddie coaster!

Hannah absolutely loved all of the rides! She was fearless!!!

I laugh every. single. time. I look at this picture!

More teacups!

We went on a train ride around the park while we were there. It was a nice and relaxing.

At the end of the day, I decided that if I was going to ride anything that would be least risky to cause nausea and headache, it would be this. It was so much fun! Dustin graciously rode with me since Rodney was too chicken unwilling to ride and run the risk of getting sick. Apparently as we age, we get more motion sickness.
(That's me  on the right end)

Just to prove how crazy high this thing rotated! I could feel my body lift off of the seat and just hang there. I'm really glad there was no mechanical malfunction of the seemingly tiny seatbelt-fastener-thing holding us in!

Where was Andrew during most of the fun??? He was hanging out in the stroller most of the time taking in the sights. The rides proved to be quite entertaining even just to watch.
The kids were pretty tired by the time we left the park. We stopped to grab some fast food on the way home and got home about 10:00pm. They slept in the van and then went right down when we got home. Well, that's after we had to give poor Hudson a nebulizer treatment when we got back home, because his bad cough had really kicked in during the day. He is such a trooper. He didn't let feeling bad stop him from having a good time!

What a great way to spend Mother's Day! We had a great time with the Morris' and we can't to go back again!
