Our little girl is officially six years old!!!
Wow.
Six years and two more kids later....what a whirlwind of joy, fun, and special memories.
Our beautiful, kind, helpful, smart, silly, energetic, singing and dancing little girl celebrated her 6th birthday on July 11th. It was s special day.
BB was here visiting and Daddy took the day off of work, so we celebrated all together with a full day of fun.
For starters, we had a chocolate chip pancake breakfast and got ready to go to the theatre.
Select kids movies were playing, and we went to see "Horton Hears a Who." The kids were thrilled to go and enjoy a movie with popcorn, a snack, and drinks.
Hannah sat by BB and we didn't hear anything out of her until the end of the movie. She's very focused on her movies. And it was a cute one.
After the movie, we went to Chili's for lunch. Unfortunately, we couldn't get her a special dessert and have them sing to her because they didn't have any nut-free options. But, I didn't let on that she was missing anything and she enjoyed her lunch very much and was happy to be at a restaurant on her birthday.
After naps we went to the church and decorated for her birthday party, then headed home to finish up the birthday festivities.
She loved her birthday cupcake, especially all six of the "squiggly" candles.
This girl loves her sweets.
I was surprised that she didn't ask anything about gifts all day, and she was joyfully surprised when she walked into the living room and found a pile of them just for her.
She got lots of fun stuff including a new purse, headbands, and new ballet leotards and leggings.
And BB and G-Daddy gave her the new Pottery Barn backpack she wanted with her name on it.
She's really been wanting a bigger backpack and she had her heart set on that design.
And, after two years of asking, she got her Nintendo DS from us. We bought it from a friend's son and got her a new Mario game and pink case, and a couple of used games. I expected at least a mention of wanting pink or purple, but she just said, "awww, a blue one!" I was pleased. And all of it together was about $85. A very good choice!
Hudson was very excited to give her this Hello Kitty art and activity set he picked out for her at Costco. She loves it.
And, though he had no idea what was in the box, Andrew gave her a new pair of googles for all of the swimming she's doing.
It was a busy, fun day!
Hannah loved all of the special things she got to do.
It was a great day filled with fun family activities in celebration of our super special six-year-old girl.
