Wow! This last month, the last couple of weeks actually, have been an explosion of language development. Andrew is repeating just about everything he hears.
He talks a lot. He's really trying to say everything we ask him to repeat. Since September 21st, he's actually starting to put appropriate names to things and says them so that we can interpret the word. Some words, such as "orse" for "horse" are almost perfect.
He says so many words, there are too many to list or remember. I try to keep up, but it's a new one all the time. We'll just say that he can say any single word he wants and it resemble the actual sound of the word. As far as phrases go, he says "ready, set, go" all the time. It sounds more like "wed, dit, doh", but it's understandable. He also says "let's go" ("det doh") when he wants you to follow him. And it's really funny to hear him say, "dit dow" or "sit down" as he pats a chair when he wants us to sit and feed him or play ball with him. And, he actually hums the Batman theme song randomly all the time . It sounds more like "Ba ba ba ba ba ba, nah nuh" But it is clearly Batman, and he gets so excited when we join in singing it with him.
He is so easy to understand and is so very expressive.
He will even point to a body part and grimace and say "urt" for "hurt" when he is hurting. We are really thankful for that. It makes it easy to know when something is going on that we should know about.
He gets very excited to see animals, especially cows, as we drive along and dogs either in person or on TV. He likes cats too, but cows get excited jabbering and dogs get full-on jumping up and down and screaming with excitement. We really should get a pet dog.

| Hannah and Hudson got some cool new firefighter hats from school and were sweet to share with little brother. |

Andrew loves to be a helper. He picks up trash and things that don't belong off of the floor and brings them to me to throw away. I think he also just likes for me to tell him, "thank you." He also watches what everyone else does and will chip in and always help pick put things away. He looks so cute holding his little arms out when I walk by with an armload of laundry. He genuinely wants to help.
The other day when Daddy was cutting down some small trees and we all were piling the tree limbs together, he grabbed all he could carry and quietly added them, one-by-one, to the pile.
And then there's the door thing. He LOVES to close doors. Every time I walk out of a room he closes the door. And he gets very annoyed when I say I need the doors open to carry laundry in and out and such as that. So, not only am I literally stepping over him left and right, I'm also running into closed doors or having them shut in my face. He is quite persistent.

| Here he is posing after "cleaning" his toys by lining up the balls in the corner. |

Andrew still loves kicking balls around and now wants to play catch all the time. He has such a good arm. His aim is quite accurate as well. He actually just started, in the last couple of days, playing with the kids' basketball goal outside. And he makes a lot of shots!
Just yesterday he also proved he is coordinated enough to ride Hudson's scooter independently. This kid amazes us. He's not even two!
And he can climb the ladder to the playset and slide completely independently now!
Another new, yet dreaded first.....(enter drum roll).....climbing out of the crib. A few days ago he climbed out of his crib for the first time. First, we heard him crying in the morning right before I could go get him up. Then, Hannah walked in first and had to grab him because he was hanging from the top of the crib, afraid of falling those last few inches. So, at nap time I laid out three pillows in front of his crib in case he decided to climb again and fell. Well, when I checked on him after a little while I saw that he had gotten one of the pillows I had put on the floor and put it in the crib with him. Not even two or three minutes later when I peeked in he had all three in there with him. I am unsure if he somehow pulled them through the slats on the crib or if he climbed out, tossed them in, then climbed back in. I wouldn't be at all surprised if it was the latter. He's a brave one, and a problem-solver too.
This little guy is such a joy to have around. He is so silly, sweet, and spirited. He's expressive and passionate. He loves to help people and is very generous with his love. My, how we love him!
