The SIXTH member of our family is a baby...........

BOY!!!

It's boy number three.....in a row!

On Thursday, May 15th Rodney and I went in for the free gender scan we were offered.
We didn't take the kids.
We told ourselves the baby was probably a boy.
And a boy he is!
The ultrasound tech was 100% positive and so were we. It was very clear.
So, in that instant I discovered that I am the mother of three boys. It still sounds so weird.
Rodney doesn't have a brother and neither do I, but each of our boys has two. Pretty cool.
Hannah was a little disappointed that she doesn't get a sister, and when we told the kids she said, "Why do we keep having boys?!?!" But, she's a good sport and got over it quickly. She's just excited to get to help with the baby. Hudson actually wanted a girl too. But, he too is excited at the thought of having another baby. They both want to feed the baby and hold him. I'm sure they will be big helpers. They are with Andrew as well. In a hurry yesterday I asked Hannah to get Andrew dressed. He cooperated and she was delighted. She asked if she could dress him every day.

So, I am about 18 weeks (it's actually hard to keep count) and trucking along. I'm almost halfway there! I'm starting to feel discomfort already so I'm praying that this fourth go-around isn't as tough as I suspected it might be. Of course, I'll deal with whatever comes and do what I have to do to get him in our arms safely. It would be nice, though, for God to grant me some extra mercies with pregnancy-related issues. I've been praying that. It's just so exciting to have this unexpected gift, and we are so very thankful for him.

The baby is looking good on ultrasound and his little profile actually looks just like Rodney's newborn pictures. His face looks different than the other kids'. I'm interested to see what he will look like when he is born.  Maybe a little blonde baby that looks just like Daddy? I guess we'll have to wait and see!
