Lee 4v4 Soccer

This year Hannah and Hudson really enjoyed playing soccer for the first time. They played in the Lee University youth 4v4 Spring league. The Men's soccer coach runs the league and each of his players split up and coach each of the four versus four teams. The teams are split by age groups. The goal is for players to learn the skills and apply them in a small group atmosphere where they can get a lot of ball play. The coaches mix up the teams each week.
We were proud of the effort from both of them.
Andrew couldn't stand not being out there with them, especially considering his accuracy and special love for kicking the soccer ball. He took his each week and Daddy would kick the ball around with him.

Hudson went after the ball from the beginning and gained more of an understanding of what it would take to play well as the weeks went on. He would get the ball and try to line it up correctly and some other kid would come along and kick it while he was trying to be precise.

Parents formed tunnels for the kids to run through after games.

Hannah improved a lot and went after the ball more and more as the weeks progressed.

Slapping hands with all of the coaches

On May 2nd (the last game), Hannah had an assist (passed the ball to another player who then directly scored a goal) and also blocked a goal at the net. She was so proud of herself!

Hannah got to play with her sweet friend, Ella (middle)!

Sweet kiddos. I'm so glad they play so well together.

Wyatt was a trooper and took many naps at the field.
Big Mama and Papo were even able to make it to a game.
The weeks went by so quickly! Even though we had lots of rain, the coaches were good about moving the games or practices indoors on the Lee campus. We got a lot of good play time. We definitely want to do this league again, year after year. It's a really great program.
And we very much enjoyed seeing sweet friends and neighbors and their playing kids at so many of the games and practices. It was a fun time.
