TCPS Talent Show

A couple of weeks prior to the school talent show Hannah told me one day that she wanted to play a song on the piano and sing it in the show. I said, "But you don't play piano." She said, "Well, I'll have to learn a song so I can play it and sing it for the show."

And there it began.

Big Mama (who knows how to play) helped us use a chord version of "Here I Am To Worship" that seemed easy and repetitive enough for Hannah to learn in two weeks. Yes, two weeks. And by the time we picked a song and figured out how the chords match up with the words (to help her sing along to it), it was more like one week of practice before the show. She learned it, practiced it a lot, and successfully played her song in the show with only a minor pause in the middle of it when she couldn't transition to another chord fast enough. She said, "wait..." and covered her mouth and giggled (and the audience did too), then she picked right back up and kept going. She was determined and had no fear. We are so proud of her. She made up her mind she wanted to do something new and challenging and she did it, and in front of the whole school. She was so very brave.
