Hudson smiles constantly now! He is 3 1/2 months old now. He is so "go-with-the-flow." He's a sweet boy. Hannah continues to be so sweet with him. She entertains him now and makes him laugh. Today, in the middle of my attempts to have time to myself during nap time, I went in his room for the 4th or 5th paci run in the middle of his nap to have him look up at me and start giggling. That turned my bad attitude into gratitude right away.
Wow, we have been so busy lately! We have had lots of showers and parties and things to do for a couple of weeks now. So, I am finally updating today. I've been meaning to for a week. Anyway, we are headed to Dothan tomorrow morning for my my nephew Gabe's birthday party on Saturday. It will be good to see everyone again. We haven't been down since my baby shower in May. My extended family will finally meet Hudson. I just always dread the driving though. I am especially apprehensive about Hudson having meltdowns, but I am keeping a stash of pacifiers up front with me so that when he drops one I can stick one back in. That should help, hopefully. It is good that he is still sleeping a a lot. Hopefully, Hannah won't disrupt that too much. I have purposefully put only non-noise-making toys in the box that will be beside her car seat to play with while we drive. Our plan is to stop halfway for lunch.
It has been a difficult couple of days, especially today. Rodney left for Nashville yesterday for work and will return tomorrow night after we've gone. Hannah has been in a weird mood and has been very defiant yesterday and today. She didn't even nap today. We'll see how church goes tonight :) I haven't gotten much done today, but I've done what I can. It is amazing what all you have to carry when you go out of town with 2 small kids. We use so much stuff on a daily basis. Because of having 2 car seats in the back now, I am down to only trunk and front seat space. Yes, that seems like a lot, but when you consider the big items like a pack 'n play, stroller, and booster seat, it's not much space at all. I'm going to try to take only things I know we will use. I'm not taking many toys either.
I wanted to leave the house clean when I left so that I would return to a clean house, but that won't happen now. I guess priority is getting us packed and gone. I'll have plenty to do when I get back.
It will be good to go see everyone and return home to "Daddy." I know Hannah will miss him as will I.
