My little lambs

I don't really have much to say today except that I am so thankful for my family. I am trying to just take in the beauty of my children's faces and the joy that they have in being children....free from the stress and nastiness of this world. They are daily reminders of Jesus, pictures of Christ, lambs.....full of meekness, innocence, and purity. They don't get weighed down by the daily pressures of adulthood with the knowledge of Satan's desired influence upon each one of us. They are just......happy. And beyond that, they have joy.
In my Bible study we are studying "Seeing and Savoring Jesus Christ" by John Piper. I am and was really struck, encouraged, and mesmerized by the following quote: "Therefore there is no more important struggle in the universe than the struggle to see and savor Jesus Christ above all things-the struggle for joy." My children will grow and learn of the daily struggle to find that joy and to see Jesus for who he is, that lion-like lamb that went to the cross and didn't come down in order to die for sins he did not commit so that we could live- live for eternity in heaven with our mighty and glorious God. He took on our sin for us. Who could ask for a greater gift than Jesus? My children will soon know how hard it is to savor Christ above all things and to receive "the superior satisfaction of His promises based on His finished work of atonement" (Piper from Phil. 3:7-9). But, my children are small and now covered by God's promises to me and Rodney, and they have joy.....the kind that has not yet been challenged by the perversities of this world in which we live.
I am daily trying to soak in the blessings that God has lavished on me and to praise my Lord for blessing me so abundantly.
I guess I had more to say than I thought!
