too much to resist!
This Christmas was wonderful. It was Hudson's first, and Hannah was so excited. We began on December 1 doing Bible stories, singing, and hanging of ornaments (a Jesse tree) every evening until Christmas day. Those were wonderful times. Hannah seemed to learn from them and has adopted a new favorite song, "Go Tell it on the Mountain." We told her that she gets gifts on Jesus' birthday just like the wise men brought to Him on the night He was born.
We celebrated and exchanged gifts at home the Saturday before Christmas so that the kids could have a few days to play with their new toys before heading out of town. We left Wednesday evening for BB and G-Daddy's house (in Dothan). The kids were great traveling (as always). Hudson slept really well and had no trouble sleeping in a new place. Hannah started coughing the night we got down there. That coupled with the new "fun" of sleeping in the same bed as Mommy and Daddy kept her up some. She napped really well, but was restless at night. But, as always, she was her normal vivacious self. We attended 4 parties in honor of Jesus' birthday in 3 days. This made for a lot of action. We are so proud of our kids. Hannah was so well behaved, and Hudson (even being up for 6 hours straight one time) was happy and not fussy at all. They just went with the flow and had fun visiting with everyone as did Rodney and I. Saturday we left Dothan and arrived in Birmingham at Big Mama and Papo's house for lunch and to spend the day. We were exhausted by the time we left that night and ready to be home. Hannah was so glad to be back at home in her own bed that she hasn't even mentioned sleeping with us. I think she may like sleeping alone as much as we like sleeping without a wiggle worm in bed with us. It's cute and sweet the first few hours, but I don't see how anyone co-sleeps. It's exhausting!
Since we have been back Hannah is almost without a cough, but I have a had a fever and head junk for 2 days, and Rodney and Hudson have developed coughs as well. We pray that coughs are all they get and that they go away soon.
We are looking forward to another wonderful year!
