Our trip to the Circus

On Sunday we went to see Barnum and Bailey's Circus in Birmingham. Hudson stayed with Big Mama and Papo (thanks!) and Rodney, Hannah, and I went to see the show. It was fun for us all. It was such a sweet time together and very entertaining too. I would recommend it to anyone. It's nice (and expensive) to do things like that every now and then. It's so cute to see Hannah's excitement and how captivated she is during the shows (I'm thinking also of the Elmo Live show we saw a while back).
You can't really take good pictures at these things because of low lights and the sheer fact that the camera is so far away from the subject, but we'll definitely have the memory for a while. I think Hannah's favorite was the trapeze act. She kept talking about the "swings" and doing hand motions through the air after we left that night and since then. She absolutely loved seeing real elephants and tigers too and seemed astounded that they could do tricks like people do. She brought home a stuffed elephant as a momento.

We enjoyed a great weekend together. It was especially nice because Rodney is working from 2:30pm to 2:30am this week and next week. We haven't gotten to spend as much time with him since Monday. But, he has been coming home to eat with us when he can. He's so sweet!

Speaking of sweet, I'm so proud of Hudson. On Sunday night he had a hard time going to sleep (mostly staying asleep) while we were away at the circus. So, after a few tries by Big Mama he stayed up and just hung out until we got back about 8:15 (his bedtime is 7:00 on the dot). We were hungry after the show, so we brought fast food back with us and ate when we got back to their house. Hudson stayed up and was happy through that time too and fell asleep quietly on the way home at about 9:30. Hannah did too. We laid them both down when we got home. All that to say, my baby boy can stay up 2 1/2 hours past bedtime (and we are VERY scheduled, so this never happens) and be sweet, calm, and happy. What an easy baby! We should have 10. Just kidding, of course.
