Church Christmas Pageant

Sunday was our Christmas pageant/production at Trinity. I've been looking so forward to this! Hannah was a horse and Hudson was a cow. They got their costumes a few days before, and I'm not kidding when I say that Hudson wanted to wear his cow costume constantly at home. I thought he'd have a hard time giving it back, but it turns out that the old saying "out of sight, out of mind" is true after all.

Here they are with their friends Hannah Caines and Gregory as the animals entered the stage and took their place by the manger.

They both sang their songs beautifully. We've been practicing lots at home. They sang "Joy to the World," "Silent Night," and "Angels We have Heard on High." It is so cute (and a bit hilarious) to hear them sing "Glo - - - - - ri- a! In ex-cel-cis De-o."

Hudson actually held it out a few seconds past the end of the song. It was cute. You could tell he was really singing!
I wish I had snapped a picture, but just before this scene as the animals were still center-stage Gregory decided to cross the stage and pummel Hudson wrestling him to the floor trying to remove his costume over his head. Gregory's Mom was sitting right beside and was saying "should I go get him off?" At first I said, "well, let's see if he stops." And when it was unclear as to if Hudson could breathe, "We said, "Yep, you should go get him!" So, she removed him from Hudson and Hudson just looked up with his lip poked out like he was thinking, "What is going on?!?" Thankfully, he kept going and kept from crying. Sweet boy. It was so funny, though. In rehearsal Hudson was the one ramming the horses and being crazy. He was so still and good during the whole thing and at the end as he sat on the front step of thestage he kept bowing over and over.

So the night was a huge success with Hannah, our little singing star and Hudson, our little bowing cow. We loved it!
