Thanksgiving the Kindergarten Way

It was a busy week for Hannah's class at TCPS. As Thanksgiving is approaching, they have been hard at work making Native American dwelling projects, doing crafts, and preparing for their Thanksgiving feast at the school.
For Hannah's project we decided to do a wigwam. She and I, along with Hudson, collected bark, rocks, and pinecones and she went to work painting. It turned out really cute. I wish I could have let her do it solo, but we had to use hot glue and that was an accident waiting to happen. Okay, so I burned myself a couple of times, but I'm used to it. It turns out Mod Podge doesn't hold bark very well. I should've known. She did place all of the items herself though. I just put the glue on the back of the pieces. And she did all of the painting. We love the way it turned out!
Hannah's first school project!

She molded the foundation out of SuperDough clay.

Hannah's class made these shirts and headpieces. So cute! They have indian names on the back. The name she picked was "Princess Mountain Flower." I am not surprised.

And they made laminated artwork saying what they are thankful for.

Hannah's says " I am thankful for God and that Jesus loves me." And she drew God (Jesus) with a beard and wearing a robe. She also added this great cross with a crown of thorns. I asked her if she heard anyone else say these things or draw the same thing and she said that she didn't and that she just thought of it. It fills me with such joy to see an example of my baby's thoughts and see that they are filled with the things of God and His love for her. My cup runneth over indeed.

Daddy went to the Thsanksgiving feast with her (Mommy was at home with the boys and Hudson was sick) and he took this picture of her and her class.

I'm so excited to have my sweet girl home all day for the next week!
