Today was Hannah's first dentist appointment. I had her an appointment scheduled at a pediatric dentist in Huntsville, but then switched it to our dentist thinking she would do just fine without all the extra kiddie stuff. And, she did just great! It is their policy to have the kids go back with the hygienist alone and for the parent to join in during the doctor's evaluation in order to ask questions. She was such a big girl. I wanted her to have her first cleaning, but when I made her appointment they said it was for a "happy visit," basically meaning they would just look in her mouth and be done with it. But, because she was doing so well they went ahead and did a cleaning and all the normal stuff. She didn't feel very warm toward the dentist, though and he decided to just have her open her mouth for a quick look. They said everything looked great with no cavities or problems at all. Yay!
She especially loved the "straw" and felt like a big girl getting to do it herself.
Her favorite thing was the little goodie bag she got.....
...complete with a new big pink toothbrush!
The visit ended with a trip to the toy box.
