Our Big Girl

June 2011 Post:
When we told the kids about the new baby, Hudson just repeated "baby in Mama's tummy" over and over not quite getting it, of course, at the ripe age of almost 2. But Hannah on the other hand, jump up and put her hands over her mouth in excitement when we told her she would have another little brother or a little sister. We then asked which she wanted- another brother or a sister. She promptly replied, "I want a baby sister, because I don't like boys. I only like girls...big girls and little girls." Ha! So funny.
This has been a big month for Hannah. She has started sleeping in a big girl bed and has started sounding out words and writing them herself, and writing a few small sentences, like "I Love Cats," "I Love you," and "Hannah Loves Cats." She has also really started picking up on the phonics we have been going over a lot the last few months and has started reading a little by sounding out the words! Her first little book she can read is called, "Just Look at You." It has very simple sentences, such as "the rain," "the mud," etc. We are so proud of her!
