Swim Lessons and Art

June 30, 2011 post:

Hannah loves to draw, cut and glue. She still has no real interest in coloring much, but that's okay. I love that she loves to create and use her imagination instead of just coloring within lines. Here she is just after she drew herself on the Magna Doodle. She does her best art on that thing! This month we've had Hannah in swim lessons. Betsy Joy, a sweet college student from our church, has been giving lessons to some of the kids from church. She says Hannah is awesome and that she can see a future athlete in her. She said that every week she asked Hannah if she needed to stop after an hour and just play or take a break and that Hannah always said, "No. I want to keep going!" She was determined. She still can't swim on her own after just 5 lessons, but the lessons helped with being more comfortable in the water and learning to kick and such as that. We graduated this summer from a ring float or floaties to just a float block strapped to her back and her playing independently in the shallow end of the pool. We were very proud of her.

I only got a few pictures since I just dropped her off for lessons, but here are the ones I got.
